OPENING OF 2022 PEANUT SEASON IN SENEGAL

On November 25, 2021, the 2022 Peanut Season in Senegal started.

The Government set 250 F CFA per kilogramme as buying price of inshell peanuts. This starting price is considered as the floor price to be used by peanut shellers who supply most of peanuts used for export and the local consumption.

As of January 24th, 2022, exports of peanuts are not yet allowed as Phytosanitary Certificates are not delivered by Government Authorities.

The 2021 Export Tax of $70 per ton is still not adopted nor is it canceled for the 2022 season.

In the meantime, peanut exporting companies to China have been registered to the portal managed by China Import Food Enterprises Registration. If your supplier/exporter fails to give its registration number issued by this Chinese Authority, exports of peanuts to China will not be possible by through its company name.

Exports will have a short window, probably beginning of February 2022 until mid April 2022. Failure to secure a contract early with export companies will hinder the performance or deliveries of wanted quantities of peanuts.

it is important to consider the availibility of containers/vessels going to your country of import. Delays of departure from Senegal can also hinder the performance of export companies.
